Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day (tomorrow) is genuinely one of my favourite days of the year. My dad used to make millions of pancakes with peaches, ice cream, lemon and sugar, Nutella, you name it, he made it.
Obviously, those simpler times are gone now.
But fear not! There are loads of alternatives out there. Not all of them are very easy so if you are a bit useless in the kitchen, maybe you should opt for Morrison's Free From Syrup pancakes.
If you are a bit more daring, try one of the following recipes that I've found online.
Fancy Italian Savoury Pancakes made with gram flour (usually in the Asian section of the supermarket)
American Blueberry Pancakes
Plain Buttermilk American Pancakes
Brown Rice Flour Pancakes
My personal favourite toppings are...
Bacon and maple syrup
Blueberries and icing sugar
Cheese and chorizo
and
Dark chocolate shavings with vanilla pod ice cream
Mmm i'm starving after all this talk of battery goodness. I'm off for a wheat-free snack.
Happy Pancake Day!
M
