Most people fall in to 3 camps:
1)I like McDonald's and see no problem eating there. In fact I'm on my way there now.
2)McDonald's is my guilty pleasure and I usually only go there when I'm drunk.
3)Wouldn't be seen dead in there under any circumstances.
I fall into camp 2/3. If I am with a group of people who want to go, I'll make a comment about it being a window into hell or just plain rank but then give in and buy a quarter pounder. To an extent this was the case last night after a night on the town to celebrate a friend's birthday. Along with the rest the population post-binge on a Saturday, we ended the night with a trip to the Golden Arches.
Once you've waded through the hen parties and underage kids wielding traffic cones you are presented with a special late night menu which has about 3 choices all at double the price.
This is where a wheat or gluten intolerance comes in very handy. You can't eat anything on the menu! Well, apart from fries. If you're in camps 2 and 3 and find yourself under constant peer pressure from camp 1 to go against all your morals, you can totally use the intolerance card to get out of it!
No longer will I feel the intense shame experienced after scoffing a Big Mac.
A small victory for the bread dodgers!
